Steve McMahan, Molly Maid of Greater Forth Worth and North Arlington, Texas was recently interviewed by the home office at Molly Maid. Here is the transcript. MM: How long have you been a Molly Maid owner? SM: Seven months. MM: How do you like it so far? SM: Last week we hit a $5,000 milestone. In fact, it was almost $6,000. I’m ecstatic. I figure that’s why you asked me for this interview. MM: What were you doing before Molly Maid? SM: I was with Coca-Cola for 27 years-in Texas the entire time. When I left, I was director of on-premise sales. My group did $130 million in revenue last year. MM: Two vastly different companies, but do you see any similarities between Coke and Molly Maid? SM: Both have winning cultures. You can go anywhere in the world and meet a Coke employee and there’s an immediate bond. I thought Coke had that bottled, but the same camaraderie, collective drive, and focus on leadership, exists within Molly Maid. MM: Give us an example.

I thought Coke had that bottled, but the same camaraderie, collective drive, and focus on
leadership, exists within Molly Maid.

MM: Give us an example.

SM: During my due diligence I spoke with ten Molly Maid owners. They all talked genuinely and enthusiastically about Molly Maid-what it has done for them personally and professionally. To a person, if given a choice, they’d do it all over again. Then when I attended my “Meet the Team Day,” there was an esprit de corps that was overwhelming.

MM: What else attracted you to Molly Maid?

SM: The repeat business was uniquely compelling. Coke would love to have customers as loyal. And, it’s a simple business. In my conversations with franchisees, they said, “Follow the plan. Stick to it, and you’ll be successful.” So far they’ve been right.

MM: How was the process that got you here?

SM: I can’t say enough good things. Troy (Molly Maid franchise development manager) looked out for me the entire time. I asked a lot of questions and he made sure that they were all answered. From Right Start to my field training in Denver, it was seamless. I was well trained and well taken care of.

MM: Speaking of good things, did you go to college in Texas?

SM: I have a marketing degree from Texas Tech in
Lubbock and an MBA from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.

MM: Have you ever been outside the state of Texas?

SM: I’m a biker. That is a bicycler. For fun one time, my friends and I spent a week riding 800 miles from El Paso to Shreveport, Louisiana.

MM: Any other interests?

SM: I have three grown daughters who I enjoy spending time with. I’m also an avid-mid-80s-golfer. Here’s another example, I’ve developed great friendships with two other Molly Maid owners here in Dallas. On the weekends you’ll find us on the links chasing after birdies and eagles and for fun, contesting our winning cultures.

More information about Molly Maid:
